La Maison Lécheneaut is in Nuits-Saint-Georges where it occupies a prestigious location at the heart of the terroirs of Burgundy. It is set in almost 30 acres of vines shared out between a score of famous Côte de Nuits appellations, endowing it with richness and singularity. Each year, fifty to sixty thousand bottles of renowned nectars leave its cutting-edge winery. In the wake of brothers Philippe and Vincent, it is now the turn of Vincent and Jules (father and son) to perpetuate this estate and the quality of its wines.
The Domaine Lécheneaut is a family estate created in the late 1950’s by Fernand Lécheneaut, a true “Moreysien” by birth. It was in the 1980’s that Philippe and Vincent (Fernand’s son), took over the reins of the estate. Very quickly, they developed the appellations by acquiring a few plots of Côte de Nuits. With the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation in Morey Saint Denis, they were able to diversify with Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle Musigny, Gevrey Chambertin… and this, at different appellation levels (regional, village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru). Which therefore currently accounts for 25 appellations on almost 30 acres, with a good number of “micro vintages”. Philippe and Vincent have also extended their entire clientele network, now representing about 50% in exports and 50% in France. In 2017, Jules Lécheneaut (Vincent’s son) returned to the estate to join forces with his father. The new generation is thus on the move, pursuing the goal of proposing wines of the highest quality. To this end, the estate is certified as pursuing Organic Agriculture to obtain grapes of the finest quality. Since 2021, Jules has built a trading structure in order to include new terroirs (Aloxe Corton, Marsannay…) and pursue his quest to obtain quality and elegance in Burgundy wines.
