Where did the desire to direct Marie’s Corner come from?

It happened a bit by chance. I started a career in IT before branching out into textiles and the production of parkas and jackets. Then in 2014, I changed direction again and turned towards decoration, undoubtedly partly influenced by my wife, who was an interior designer.

Why did you specialise in seating?

For the specificity, the precision, the infinite possibilities of creation. Also the desire to perpetuate know-how. All our sofas, couches and armchairs are made by hand in a factory located in Zaragoza, in northern Spain. This artisanal production also reflects our values. It is based on the mortise and tenon technique, synonymous with quality and durability.

What is the biggest challenge when working on projects like the Hostellerie de Levernois and the Château Sainte Sabine?

To give the best possible advice, succeed in creating a universe, revive a former period. To incorporate the furniture in a history of bygone days but which remains relevant.

We often talk about the detail that makes the difference. What would it be at Marie’s Corner?

A daring to mix styles. Mixing vintage with more contemporary pieces and materials like brass, linen, or even wood.
